Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired

Broke

Hi, my name is Broke. You?

Do you ever feel like you are just spinning your wheels?

If you do, then don’t just worry about it, do something different than when you are currently doing. The majority of people in America feel this way because their finances work like a revolving door, money comes in and money goes right out again.

In fact many people already know how they are going to spend their next paycheck. It’s crazy how easy it is for people to spend money they don’t even have yet. Take a second and think about your next big purchase, it’s attached to a future paycheck right? Maybe your next income tax check?

How many people are one paycheck away from a financial crisis?

Now, i’m a planner and of course I know that people have to budget and pretend they are spending their money so that they know exactly how the money will be spent every month.

That’s not what i’m talking about, i’m referring to the people who spend their money before they look at their own budget, (if they have a budget).

Some people have an idea of their monthly expenses but some don’t. Have you ever checked your bank account only to find a few dollars left or worse that you went over and had overdraft fees associated with your account. If so, then i’m referring to you.

Are you not sick and tired of being sick and tired?

I’m serious, when are you going to stop digging a hole and start climbing your way out. It’s starts with paying off your smallest loans first, then the larger ones. I remember transferring over five dollars from my checking to my school loans. It might not seem like much but every little bit helped me become debt free. Now i’m on the other side, I save more than that every day and that’s the way personal finances work. You shouldn’t be going deeper in debt, you should be coming out of debt so that you can start paying cash for what you need so you can eliminate your credit card spending.

I’ll be the first to say that getting out of debt is not fun, people hate talking about it and you lose a lot cool points with people.

On the flip side I will say that once you are out, you’re out baby, you will never go back to something you worked hard to get out of. It really is true freedom, and your income is the key to your success, so lock the revolving door to your bank account and take action and attack the debt and take back your life.

It’s been two years since we screamed “I’m Debt Free” on the Dave Ramsey show. Listen to our debt free scream if you haven’t done so already.

  1. Great blog you have here. I love Dave Ramsey as well and am now a new follower. You have some really great info on your site, following on Twitter as well.

  2. “Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.” I agree with your advice of starting small. Sometimes it’s a mental thing. You first need the confidence and ‘proof’ to know that you can change your ways … and that you’re only helping yourself!
