There is nothing like playing golf. Actually there is nothing like playing golf debt free. This post may catch the attention of golf player alike, but I must admit that I am not a golf fanatic and here is why: Time
It seems to me that there is not enough time to play golf. Golf is not a quick pick up game, it’s a half a day out of your week to play several rounds. I must admit, the times I have gone golfing I have felt relaxed, except when the ball would go in the opposite direction that I wanted it to.
Money
Here is why i’m writing this post. Golf is one of those games that that suck the money out of your pocket. Everyone wants to have the perfect clubs, the right shoes, the right golf ball and don’t forget the white glove. All this for that one shot down the fairway in which you can tell your golfing buddies how far you hit the ball.
Do you travel with your clubs?
Businesses that rent golf clubs are booming right now. For one, people do not want to spend hundreds of dollars on clubs, nor would their wives let them, so they rent golf clubs when they go golfing. Not only that but checking your golf clubs at the airport is becoming expensive, up to $50 each way just to take your golf clubs with you on vacation.
Don’t even think about shipping your clubs. Lets say you are going on vacation to California and you are planning on taking a day to go golfing. You want your clubs to meet you at the hotel so you decide to ship your golf clubs via UPS or FedEx. Well you going to end up paying way over $100 depending on where you are shipping from, each way. I know, whatever you are thinking, thats what I said. I’d rather rent my clubs when I arrive thank you very much. Call me a frugal golfer but i’m debt free and I don’t throw money like around anymore.
So the next time you go golfing, consider find a golf shop close to your proximity and see if they rent out their clubs. It’s not the same, you are right, it’s not but some have nice clubs that may be better than yours. Consider yourself warned if you plan on traveling with golf clubs.
