I remember when I had Credit Card debt, Car Loan debt and those long lasting student loans. Paying them down was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. My check was spent before I even cashed it. I can’t tell you how many checks went through my hands only to end up in the hands of banks across the USA. Today when I recieve checks, 10% automatically gets put into a 403B with a 10% match from my employer. Another 10% goes to my local church. I save about 25% in a Money market savings account. The rest is used for mortgage insurance and everyday expenses. This can be done this way because I am now totally Debt FREE! But it wasn’t always this way.
